Weight Loss Tips
WATER – Take your body weight divide by two and that is the number of ounces of water you should drink to hydrate your body and wash away extra weight. If your body is hydrated your systems and organs function at there optimum levels. Also water helps wash toxins out of the body and curbs cravings. There are also new studies that suggest that you can actually put your intention into your water. Dr. Masaru Emoto who wrote the book The Miracle of Water talks about the scientific experiments that discovered this amazing information.
CHOOSE ALIVE AND VIBRANT FOOD, FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. Fresh fruits and vegetables are alive foods they are grown in the light and will make you feel lighter. They are also full of essential nutrients that repair and replenish your body. These foods also have alot of fiber that signal the brain you have had enough to eat and fiber works like scrubbers in the intestine to keep your system regular. Many times when you are hungry even though you have had something to eat, it is because your body has not received the nutrients or fiber it needs, you therefore start craving sugary, starchy and fatty foods. With my clients I suggest at least one fruit or vegetable smoothie per day that has been broken down to the cellular level. I have personally been using the Vita Mix Machine for over 12 years and it is the only machine I recommend for whole food juicing and smoothies.
EAT ONLY WHEN YOU ARE PHYSICALLY HUNGRY. Pay attention to when you are wanting to eat and you know you are not physically hungry. Keep a journal and note what is going on when you have the urge to eat and you are not physically hungry. Note also the common self talk that is negative and make it a point to turn that talk around to positive.
EXERCISE 3 TO 5 TIMES A WEEK CONSISTANTLY. Exercise actually reduces stress. It helps the body rid itself of cortisol, a stress hormone that can cause weight gain, especially around the mid-section. Note this is also where toxins from toxic food are stored over time. Exercise also increase the body’s lean muscle mass which in turn raises the metabolism. Walking briskly is a wonderful low impact excercise that everyone can do. Walking outside can also balance out the ions of the body which directly effect brain function and serotonin levels. Yoga is a wonderful choice it not only creates a lean body and burns fat, but it also trains the mind to quiet itself. I recommend a beginning cd from Rodney Yee, he gives simple passionate instruction and you can feel his connection to what he does. Make sure that no matter what method of exercise you choose that you breathe deeply and pay attention to every muscle- how wonderful, how strong and allow yourself to be amazed with your own body.
